We've designed a bolt-in Stage 3 Smart Spool Kit that installs into your existing Can-Am X3 Smart-Lok differential case and allows you to run REAR AXLES in the front.

Yes, you read that right. Rear axles all the way around.

That means bigger cups, bigger shafts, bigger input splines, and the ability to run the same stronger axle setup front and rear. No more $600–$800 specialty front axles or carrying $600–$800 spares.

What's Included

The Stage 3 Kit includes:

• 6061 billet aluminum side cover with added bearing surface for superior strength
• 2 seals
• 2 shims

• Black oxide coating on the Smart Spool to help prevent rust and corrosion
• 1-Year Unlimited Miles Warranty

The Smart Spool and side cover are manufactured locally in Blair County, Pennsylvania.

Installation

This kit is designed to install into your existing compatible Smart-Lok differential case.

Minimal grinding just above the lower ball joint is required. See installation video for details.

We recommend setting limit straps to 1" above full droop or running a front sway bar.

Axle Options

Run the kit without purchasing axles from us, or add the appropriate axle package when ordering.

If you want to go straight KILL MODE, add King Cobra Level 3 axles.

Optional Pinion Support

You can add our Pinion Support, which includes an adapter and double-roller bearing.

The additional support strengthens the pinion and helps eliminate premature wear on the needle bearing and the case surrounding the needle bearing.

Why We Don't Just Keep Making Everything Stronger

When you upgrade the diff, you break axles. Upgrade the axles and you twist driveshafts. Run a built driveshaft and the weak link moves to the pinion. Beef up the pinion and guess what's next? The transmission output shaft.

Something has to be the weak link.

With our kit in your stock Smart-Lok, you may eventually break an axle, driveshaft, pinion, or case. A pinion or differential can be a much simpler and less expensive repair than moving the weak link farther into the drivetrain and potentially damaging the transmission.

That's why we don't believe making every component progressively stronger is automatically better.

Warranty

Our Smart Spool comes with a 1-Year Unlimited Miles Warranty against mechanical failure for the original purchaser.

Mechanical failure means failure due to a defect in materials or workmanship. It does not include normal wear, improper machine application, improper maintenance, or damage caused by undersized or worn axles.

The Can Am Crew LLC is not responsible for additional damage to other vehicle components caused by or related to the Smart Spool product.

Our Smart Spools are made to order. Once your order is placed, we begin the manufacturing process.
